We acquire our bottles primarily through established international auction houses, such as Christie's. We also utilize other reputable auction platforms. Occasionally, we purchase directly from private collectors and dealers.

Do you maintain documentation for each bottle?

Yes. For each bottle, we maintain detailed origin documentation. This includes information on who we acquired it from, as well as the acquisition date and delivery route.

Can I view the origin of a specific bottle?

We are happy to provide general information about the origin upon request. This includes, for example, the auction house or the acquisition method. Personal data of third parties, such as previous private owners, is treated confidentially in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Storage & Fill Level

How does wein-sammeln.de store the wines?

Our wines are stored in an underground wine cellar, where controlled conditions prevail. This includes the correct temperature, humidity, and darkness. These are precisely what decades-old Bordeaux wines need for their maturation.

Why does the fill level differ in old wine?

With wines decades old, a certain reduction in fill level is normal. This generally does not impair the quality. You can find more information on our Fill Level page.

How should I store the wines myself after receiving them?

Store the bottle horizontally to keep the cork moist. Choose a dark, cool place. Ideal temperatures are consistent between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius. Avoid vibrations and strong temperature fluctuations.
