Collection: Château Cantemerle

Château Cantemerle is located in the French commune of Macau in western France. The estate belongs to the Haut-Médoc appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau Cantemerle—also known as the "Grand Vin"—the winery was admitted to the Bordeaux Classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has been part of the Cinquième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wines according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price levels of the wines produced.

The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (40%), Cabernet Franc (5%), and Petit Verdot (5%) are cultivated on an area of approximately 90 hectares. Approximately 300,000 bottles of this "Grand Vin" are produced annually.

However, Château Cantemerle's second wine, "Les Allées de Cantemerle," is not classified as a 5th Grand Cru Classé. Approximately 150,000 bottles of this wine are produced. It was formerly called "Villeneuve de Cantemerle."

A third wine is also produced, called "Baronne Caroline." Approximately 50,000 bottles of this wine are released.
