Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey is located in the French commune of Bommes in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Sauternes appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau Clos Haut Peyraguey - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this dessert wine has belonged to the Premier Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.
The grape varieties Sémillon (90%) and Sauvignon Blanc (10%) are grown on an area of around 17 hectares. Around 18,000 bottles are produced annually. The second wine from Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey, "Château Haut-Bommes", does not belong to the 1st Grand Cru Classé.
