Collection: Château Doisy-Daëne
Château Doisy Daëne is located in the French commune of Barsac in western France. The estate belongs to the Barsac appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau Doisy Daene—also known as the "Grand Vin"—the winery was admitted to the Bordeaux Classification in 1855. Since then, this dessert wine has been part of the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wines according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price levels of the wines produced.
The grape varieties Sémillon (87%), Sauvignon Blanc (12%), and Muscadelle (1%) are cultivated on an area of approximately 15.9 hectares. Approximately 36,000 bottles of this first wine are produced annually.
There is also a white wine made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc. Approximately 30,000 bottles of this wine are marketed annually. In some years, a selection is even produced, albeit in small quantities. This wine is then sold under the name "L'Extravagant de Doisy-Daëne."
