Château Doisy-Védrines is located in the French commune of Barsac in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Barsac appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau Doisy Vedrines - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this dessert wine has belonged to the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.
The grape varieties Sémillon (85%) and Sauvignon Blanc (15%) are grown on an area of around 27 hectares. Around 36,000 bottles of the “Grand Vin” are produced annually. However, the second wine of Château Doisy-Védrines, “La Petite Védrines”, does not belong to the 2ème Grand Cru Classé.
