Château la Tour Blanche is located in the French commune of Bommes in western France. The winery belongs to the Sauternes appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau la Tour Blanche—also known as the "Grand Vin"—the winery was admitted to the Bordeaux Classification in 1855. Since then, this dessert wine has been part of the Premier Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wines according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price levels of the wines produced.
The grape varieties Sémillon (82%), Sauvignon Blanc (12%), and Muscadelle (6%) are cultivated on an area of approximately 36 hectares. Approximately 40,000 bottles of this "Grand Vin" are produced annually.
However, the second wine of Château la Tour Blanche, “Les Charmilles de Tour Blanche”, does not belong to the 1er Grand Cru Classé.
In addition, wines called "Isis" and "Osiris" are produced. Furthermore, 4 hectares are used for the cultivation of a red wine called "Cru du Cinquet."
