Collection: Château la Lagune

Château la Lagune is located in the French commune of Ludon-Médoc in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Haut-Médoc appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau la Lagune - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Troisième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.

The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (30%) and Petit Verdot (10%) are grown on an area of around 80 hectares. Around 390,000 bottles of the "Grand Vin" are produced annually. However, the second wine of Château la Lagune, "Moulin de la Lagune", does not belong to the 3ème Grand Cru Classé. Around 96,000 bottles of this wine are produced. Until 1998, the second wine was called "Château Ludon Pomies Agassac". Interestingly, the winery also produces a third wine, which is marketed under the name "Mademoiselle L - Château la Lagune". This wine has been available since 2004.
