Château d'Arche is located in the French commune of Sauternes in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Sauternes appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau d' Arche - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this dessert wine has belonged to the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.
The grape varieties Sémillon (90%) and Sauvignon Blanc (10%) are grown on an area of around 40 hectares. Chateau d' Arche also produces a second wine, called "Prieuré d'Arche". In addition, a reserve wine called "Château d'Arche Lafaurie", a white wine called "A d'Arche Bordeaux Blanc sec" and a red wine called "A d'Arche Graves rouge" are produced.
