Collection: Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle is located in the French commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle in western France. The winery belongs to the Saint-Julien appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau Beychevelle—also known as the "Grand Vin"—the winery was admitted to the Bordeaux Classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has been part of the Quatrième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wines according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price levels of the wines produced.

The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Merlot (31%), Cabernet Franc (5%), and Petit Verdot (2%) are cultivated on an area of approximately 90 hectares. Approximately 300,000 bottles of this "Grand Vin" are produced annually. However, Château Beychevelle's second wine, "Amiral de Beychevelle," is not classified as a 4th Grand Cru Classé. Approximately 150,000 bottles of this wine are produced.

There is also a so-called third wine, which comes from parcels near Saint-Julien. This wine belongs to the Haut-Médoc appellation and is known as "Brulières de Beychevelle."
