About wein-sammeln.de – My Passion for Bordeaux Wine
A passion that began in France
My first encounter with the world of wine
My name is Adrian Ehrenberg. My Bordeaux story doesn't begin in an office. It begins at the dinner table. I owe my first introduction to the world of wine to a close friend. He quickly sparked my enthusiasm for fine wines and French food culture.

The Year in Nantes
This passion truly ignited in 2012. At that time, I lived in Nantes for a while. There I learned the language. I explored the region on my own. And so, interest turned into true fascination – for Bordeaux, its châteaux, and the stories behind every bottle.
From collecting passion to expertise
Why old vintages fascinate me
Long before I took care of wein-sammeln.de, I collected Bordeaux wines myself. Initially out of pure passion, not as a business. What still fascinates me about old vintages: a decades-old bottle is more than just wine. It is a witness to a bygone era.
The launch of wein-sammeln.de
This combination of history, craftsmanship, and value convinced me. The private collection was to become more. At the end of 2023, wein-sammeln.de was created – a specialized online shop for rare Bordeaux vintages. Since then, I have personally been responsible for selection, content, and provenance documentation.
My Expertise: Depth instead of titles
No certificate, but years of experience
I am not a trained sommelier. I do not hold a wine certificate. I prefer to be open about that. Pretending to have a qualification that I don't possess is out of the question for me. My expertise comes from something else: from years of intensive, independent engagement with Bordeaux wines.
My focus: the 1855 classification
I continuously study the 1855 classification in particular. I am also interested in the other Bordeaux classifications from Saint-Émilion, Graves, Sauternes, and Barsac. I delve into the history of the châteaux. I track differences between vintages and market developments. This self-taught, yet very thorough, engagement with the subject is the basis for every bottle in our shop.
How the wines come to us
Acquisition through auction houses and private sellers
The provenance of a decades-old wine determines its authenticity. It also determines its value. That is why we primarily source our bottles through established international auction houses like Christie's. We also use other reputable auction platforms. Occasionally, we purchase directly from private collectors and dealers.
Provenance documentation and data protection
For every bottle, we maintain detailed provenance documentation. This includes who we acquired it from, the date of receipt, and the delivery method. We treat the personal data of third parties, such as previous private owners, as strictly confidential. This is done in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are happy to provide general information about the origin, such as the auction house or the acquisition method, upon request.
Professional Storage
Controlled conditions in the wine cellar
Our wines are stored in an underground wine cellar. There, controlled conditions prevail: the right temperature, humidity, and darkness. Exactly what decades-old Bordeaux wines need for their maturation and preservation. For security reasons, we deliberately keep the exact location a secret.
Secure and insured shipping
Every order is shipped insured. The packaging is shock-proof Styrofoam.
Who is responsible for wein-sammeln.de
My role at wein-sammeln.de
I am responsible for the content of wein-sammeln.de: the selection of wines, provenance research, blog articles, and direct contact with you as a collector or buyer. For me, Bordeaux wine is not a random product. It is the subject that has accompanied me privately for over a decade.
What drives me
What drives me is not primarily business. It is the conviction that good Bordeaux wines deserve care. They should be passed on to the right collectors.
