Château Cos d'Estournel is located in the French commune of Saint-Estèphe in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Saint-Estèphe appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau Cos d' Estournel - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.

The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (38%) and Cabernet Franc (2%) are grown on an area of ​​around 64 hectares. Around 370,000 bottles of the “Grand Vin” and the second wine are produced annually.

The second wine of Château Cos d'Estournel is called "Les Pagodes de Cos" and does not belong to the 2ème Grand Cru Classé.
