Château Clerc-Milon is located in the French commune of Pauillac in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Pauillac appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau Clerc Milon - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Cinquième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines grown.
The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (46%), Merlot (39%), Cabernet Franc (12%), Petit Verdot (2%) and Carménère (1%) are grown on an area of around 40 hectares. Around 170,000 bottles of the "Grand Vin" are produced annually. However, Château Clerc-Milon's second wine, "Pastourelle de Clerc-Milon", does not belong to the 5ème Grand Cru Classé.
