Collection: Château Pavie
Château Pavie is located in the French commune of Saint-Émilion in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau Pavie - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the classification of Saint-Émilion wines in 1955. From 1955 to 2011, this red wine belonged to the Premier Grand Cru Classé B. In 2012, Château Pavie was included in the Premier Grand Cru Classé A and has been in this quality level ever since. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.
The grape varieties Merlot (60%), Cabernet Franc (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) are grown on an area of around 36 hectares. Around 80,000 bottles of the "Grand Vin" are produced annually. However, Château Pavie's second wine "Arômes de Pavie" does not belong to the 1er Grand Cru Classé A.
