Château Branaire-Ducru is located in the French commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Saint-Julien appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau Branaire Ducru - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Quatrième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.

The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Merlot (22%) and Petit Verdot (4%) are grown on an area of ​​around 60 hectares. Around 260,000 bottles of the "Grand Vin" are produced annually.
