Château du Tertre is located in the French commune of Arsac in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Margaux appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau du Tertre - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Cinquième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines produced.

The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Merlot (35%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Petit Verdot (5%) are grown on an area of ​​around 50 hectares. Around 200,000 bottles of the "Grand Vin" are produced annually. The second wine from Château du Tertre, "Les Hauts du Tertre", does not belong to the 5ème Grand Cru Classé. Around 100,000 bottles of this wine are produced.
