Collection: Château Batailley
Château Batailley is located in the French commune of Pauillac in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Pauillac appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.
With the first wine from Chateau Batailley - also known as "Grand Vin" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Cinquième Grand Cru Classé. The classification of Bordeaux wine according to quality levels is intended to clarify the quality and price level of the wines grown.
The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (25%), Cabernet Franc (3%) and Petit Verdot (2%) are grown on an area of around 57 hectares. Around 300,000 bottles are produced annually. However, Château Batailley's second wine, "Lions de Batailley", does not belong to the 5ème Grand Cru Classé.
A third wine from Chateau Batailley is also marketed. This red wine is called "Pauillac de Batailley".
