Château Léoville las Cases is located in the French commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle in the west of France. The winery belongs to the Saint-Julien appellation and is located in the Bordeaux wine-growing region.

With the first wine from Chateau Leoville las Cases - also known as "Grand Vin de Léoville" - the winery was included in the Bordeaux classification in 1855. Since then, this red wine has belonged to the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé. The grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (19%), Cabernet Franc (13%) and Petit Verdot (3%) are grown on an area of ​​around 98 hectares. The second wine from Château Léoville las Cases has been known as "Petit Lion" since 2007, but does not belong to the 2ème Grand Cru Classé. Around 250,000 bottles of this wine are produced.
